Our new book for 2019 is Anne Lamott’s Almost Everything: Notes on Hope.
What does it mean to have hope when we live with such uncertainty? Or realizing that we all eventually will face the death of our loved ones – and ourselves?
Almost Everything, as you might expect from the title, includes a little bit of everything, connected by the central threads of humor and resilience against adversity. The essays in the collection are small morsels, offering tastes of Lamott’s wisdom about enduring themes like faith and family.
Almost Everything offers a dose of levity, but it doesn’t stray from the truth.
Our first discussion will be through Chapter 7 on January 27, and we will conclude with the second half of the book after church on February
